The Efficient Approach to Painting a House

There are a number of reasons that can inspire one to paint a house. It could be to improve the appearance of the house or to satisfy some other need. Hannah has constantly nurtured the thoughts of painting the exterior of her house with a new color since she moved in. As it stands, we concluded the cleaning of the vinyl siding parts already, but it seemed to have made the stucco part remarkably dull in appearance.

The paint sprayer and exterior paint were the tools at our disposal for carrying out the painting of the house.

Subsequently, more light would be shed on this, however, it sufficed to be the only option we could have adopted in handling this task. While stucco presented uncanny difficulty to painters that use the conventional approach, our paint sprayer simplified and made a fun adventure out of the process.

   Brushes for cleaning
   Paint brush
   Ladder
   Sprayer-tipped garden pipe
   House Wash
   Caulk
   Plastic Drop Cloth
   Exterior Painter’s Tape
   Exterior Paint
Papers that would be used to make masks
   Paint Sprayer
A paint roller with long hand
Two gallons of 5 liter capacity for cleaning purpose
   Detergent for washing purpose

 Prior to Painting

Those who have adventured into painting previously would know attest to the mandatory drawing board work involved. In our case, we followed the classical approach as well of doing the prior analytic work before the practical. Prior to the painting, we did the following:
We started by making a color choice; and for Hannah's house, we chose gray paint. For cases of homeowners who are members of some associations of landlords, you might have to adopt a color pattern that would be endorsed by your association in painting your house.
We then bought the paint and other required equipment.
As for the paint, it would suffice to purchase at least five gallons.

Go on to take out all appliances and fixtures attached to the house. Some of these appliances we are referring to are lightings, number plaque, electronic bells, etc.
Fix the unhealthy parts of the building like cracks and any material dislodgement.
In doing this, we did fill up the cracks in the stucco, then went on to employ DAP sealants to patch the bottom of a window and the door to the garage.
Check every area of the building from bottoms of structures to the pillars and walls, and brush off all the dirt and cobwebs if there are any.
Clear up grasses that might intrude in the painting process, as well as take out any form of organic material around the building.
Clean outside the House
After the minor fixes and cleanings, we entered the phase of having to wash the entire exterior of the house. How are we going to approach this? We could just do a house wash or employ the service of a pressure wash.
After we made our choice, we fixed the Home Armor (do not wear a nice cloth when using this equipment, it bleaches clothes) house wash to the hose and afterward sprayed the house completely. We gave almost quarter an hour time and then proceeded to brush up the more untidy parts.
Protect all materials that you do not intend to paint with a cover or mask.
We covered up the windows, beneath the structures, the doors, and gutters.
A great tool to strap off the windows and doors is the pre-taped painter’s plastic drop cloth. For us though, we were encouraged to employ a 3M tape by a home depot store agent for the masking. It did not take so long before we realized we had used the best tool for the job, as its flexibility afforded us the opportunity to wrap the tape conveniently around the curvy panes and windows.

Using a Paint Sprayer to Paint a House

Go through the following guidelines concerning the usage of the paint sprayer. They are so elementary that any dummy would find it easy to comprehend, largely because of the instructive diagrams.
There were no challenges whatsoever in organizing the sprayer prepared for usage. On the contrary, the pump of the sprayer was so optimized to fit perfectly into the bucket without any extra need for customization. That made the process more fun.
Spray areas with the wider surface area.
Down till where the obvious parts of the building terminate, we sprayed every section. For portions where the paint does not blend well, we used the brush or paint roller to make for a smooth painting.
Paint sections that are difficult to Access using the roller or brush.
What we did was to use a brush for the painting of those sections that were not easy to cover up, for example, the part of the building that lies just above the curvy windows.
Wash up the Sprayer
Cleaning a sprayer can be a bit tasking, although in our case it was a simple process that took about a quarter an hour to complete. Water mixed with some detergent filled two of the 5-gallon bucket and was sprayed via the nozzle of the spray through the hose. The sprayer comes with steps for doing this, follow it.

At the End of Painting

Start by taking off the covers that masked some sections.
Blend up areas that were not well painted.
For us, we used hand rollers and some white paint to finish the garage.

Key Points

Endeavor to verify from weather predictions what condition the weather would take for the next few days before embarking on the adventure of painting.
We did this and knew that we had about 60 hours of sunlight to complete our job, at least with a high degree of certainty. Indeed, the act of planning in line with the weather predictions before painting can hardly be overemphasized. And then you must do well to ensure that the use of painting equipment go well with the building you intend to paint.
For our job, the tool we have used were the most efficient we could use. Previously, we had not enjoyed a friendly experience with paint sprayers, and this induced some inertia in us before we decided to use this one. Honestly it a blissful bolt of a shock to us when we saw how effective this particular sprayer performed.
Considering how uncanny it was for us while we used hand rollers and brushes for painting stucco, we do not need a banker to tell us the worth of a sprayer as a tool for painting, neither do we need an astrologer to show us how elementary the sprayer made the task of painting a house.

Blending nicely with the houses within the area, the gray color we chose was grossly the perfect choice.
